Job Description;

Responsible for performing advanced Failure Analysis on a wide assortment of electronic, electromechanical and magnetic components of satellite systems. The analysis includes research of the failure history, verification of the failure, isolation of the failure site, and determination of the failure mechanism.
Preparation of formal Failure Analysis reports, suitable for distribution to management and customers as required.
Support overall Product Reliability organization as a technical expert with respect to failure analysis, failure mechanisms and other support activities as required.

Position Requirements:
· Requires knowledge of electronic part fabrication, part function, bench electrical testing, physics of failure and MIL-STD tests and inspection methods.
· Will require the ability to logically plan and implement an effective investigation and communicate the results in a written and/or oral presentation.
· Presentation of FA action plans and results in connection with Failure Review Board (FRB) participation often involving management and also the customer.
· Must be a hands-on engineer able to operate various types of laboratory and analytical equipment, such as optical microscopes, scanning electron microscope (SEM), EDS, x-ray spectrometer, curve tracer etc.
· Other areas of process expertise required to perform this analysis shall include delidding, internal visual inspection, radiography, physical dimensional measurements, photographic documentation, wire bond and die attach integrity assessment, cross-sectioning and special testing as required.
· Work with Lab Technicians and other Engineers in performing electronic part failure analysis.
· Eight years experience in performing electronic part failure analysis, with four years performing advanced part and assembly failure analysis.
· Comfortable working with PC’s, Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word etc.

Job Functions
